At the European Hiking Trails Awards, organised annually by the European Ramblers' Association (ERA), the Kilikya Way received the top prize in the "Best Cultural Hiking Route of the Year" category. The award was accepted in Vienna by the Head of Culture and Social Affairs of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality.
The jury highlighted the route's comprehensive 38-stage infrastructure, its remarkable historical diversity spanning from Hellenistic to Ottoman periods, and its unique geography combining coastal and mountain ecosystems as its standout qualities.
The ERA certification logo will now appear on all official promotional materials for the Kilikya Way. Mersin Metropolitan Municipality also announced it has initiated the application process to be included in the European Long-Distance Hiking Trails network (E-Path) in 2026.
