The Kilikya Way, developed under the leadership of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, has been officially inaugurated with its 550-kilometre route stretching from Tarsus to Yeşilovacık. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Mersin, governors of neighbouring provinces, and hundreds of nature enthusiasts together with members of Mersin Zirve Mountaineering Club.

Comprising four main stages — Silk Road, Taurus, Olba, and Aphrodite — the Kilikya Way covers 38 distinct trail sections. The route, which combines ancient Roman roads, medieval caravanserais, and Mediterranean coastlines, has joined the ranks of Turkey's most comprehensive long-distance hiking trails.

"The Kilikya Way will introduce Mersin's natural and cultural riches to the entire world. Every visitor who walks this route will be treading on thousands of years of history," said the Mayor at the opening ceremony.
