In the first-ever "Kilikya Trekking Festival," organised by leading long-distance hiking associations from across Europe, 340 participants from 12 countries walked the Olba Stage of the Kilikya Way together. Experienced hikers from Germany, Spain, Poland, Japan and beyond were captivated by the magic of the trail stretching from ancient Uzuncaburç to Kızkalesi.

Throughout the festival, participants enjoyed archaeologist-guided tours, local cuisine presentations, and traditional handicraft workshops. "The Kilikya Way has now firmly placed itself on the international hiking trail map," said the Head of Mersin Metropolitan Culture and Social Affairs Department.

German hiker Maria Klein shared her impressions: "I have done Lisbon to Santiago, the Camino in Norway. But the historical depth and Mediterranean scenery of Kilikya are unmatched. I will definitely be back."
